Nice to know but I was referring to the corporate owners who have been accused of supporting “traditional marriage”. I have no firsthand knowledge of their views but have heard that some universities will not allow a Chick-Fil-A franchise on campus.

Reply to Why does woolwich need 600 dispensaries??? Shouldn’t they focus on their broke ass bridge instead of building new weed shops lol by Squidoppolis
Woolwich has a population of about 3200. At least 6 dispensaries are needed, maybe more so that they are within walking distance for most residents. Capitalism at work!

Reply to comment by JimBones31 in Historical question: commuting and town layouts pre-automobile? by LockedOutOfElfland
For Example: Blue Hill has villages of Blue Hill Falls, North Blue Hill, South Blue Hill, and Long Island at one time most or all of these villages had stores etc.
Mount Desert has villages of Beech Hill , Hall Quarry, Northeast Harbor, Otter Creek, Somesville - today nearly all the businesses are in Northeast Harbor.

Correct many towns had several villages each with various businesses and often a post office. Today most of those businesses are gone but the place names have endured. A few still have a variety stores and sometimes a post office.

Reply to comment by RAP1958 in Do we name our snowplows? I want to follow MN’s example 😂 by Andrew_Lollo-Baloney
My son-in-law plowed for a town in Maine for a couple of seasons. He filled in a driveway as usual after a big storm. On the way back the homeowner stopped him and had a lot of choice words for his deed. He listened to the tirade and then said “Jesus loves you” and continued plowing.

Reply to How long is to long of a commute. by bluecommet84
For context, one site says the average U.S. commute time is 27.6 minutes 41 miles. Their data for Maine shows 23.9 minutes (did they really do a survey?) If that job is a good stepping stone to something better and closer it might be a good deal. Others had great comments.
