I didn’t unfortunately. I should have but I was young at the time and didn’t know better. This was over 10 years ago now and if I knew then what I know now, I certainly would have!

When my mom was fighting cancer, she was taking antibiotics while going through chemo. Effing CVS, put a completely wrong medication in the bottle labeled as antibiotic. They gave her heart burn medicine instead. Thank god I realized something wasn’t right as soon as we opened it at home. And no, they didn’t apologize and acted like we tampered with it.

I’ve raised two babies in pre 1978 houses (both were built in the 1930s) without any issues, ever. Both grew up not only healthy but intelligent enough to be in advanced placement throughout their school years. You repaint when you move in and watch your children carefully. Before you know it, they’re at an age where they know better than to munch on paint chips. Willingness to settle on an older house may help you find one within your price range. We also found affordable houses by settling for older houses that needed a bit of updating which we did ourselves. By doing the work ourselves, we doubled our equity in the first couple of years.

I’ve been stuck in 2019 all along myself… I guess my brain just keeps reverting back to the last time things were relatively normal.

I get it. Good luck though and keep us updated on your journey! I’m very curious how it goes because we also have a colonial on a small plot and may decide to go a similar route soon.

Whoa… it was just a question.. no need for immediate attitude. Finding good advice usually does require answering a few simple questions.

Take pictures and contact your landlord, preferably in writing if you can. It’s your landlords responsibility to fix it.
