Reply to I'll be in New Hampshire (staying in the Plymouth area) from March 16-22. Any ski resort recommendations? I've heard that Cannon and Waterville valley are good. I'm a solid intermediate skier, but haven't skied the East in a while. by Akamaikai
Cannon is known for its advance terrain but it actually offers quite a lot of intermediate terrain and is more affordable than Loon and Waterville and less crowded. It’s more of no-frills skiers mountain and not a corporate resort. They’ve also invested a lot of money in snowmaking and grooming the last 10-15 years and recent snowfall should have only made it better. It also has competes with Wildcat for the best scenery in the state.

Reply to comment by T-to-B in the cannon mountain tram needs repairs and Sununu proposes replacing the tram with a gondola to cut costs by comefromawayfan2022
Having worked at both Cannon and Palisades I can say without question Palisades is windier. The funitel was built specifically to handle higher winds than the previous gondola it replaced but it still routinely goes on wind hold during winters like this year where the resort will likely pass 500” of snow this week.
Anyway, most of the development of new lifts takes place in Europe and the 3s gondolas seem to be the latest and greatest for achieving uphill capacity and efficiency. Most people would still call it a team because they couldn’t tell the difference.
