It’s interesting the standard test measures all LDL levels when the neutral LDL-A compose majority of the LDL’s….
My triglycerides are 47 so that’s a good indicator that I have low LDL B
Wow, thank you guys so much! Bio is so interesting. I wish they went into this more in phys

Thank you so much for taking the time to explain this. I have always been so worried about having high cholesterol but honestly all my grandparents are in their 80’s and are very healthy so this makes sense. Thank you again :)
The body temp is a really great analogy

What’s the LDL myth? From someone with genetically high cholesterol (177 LDL and 66 HDL - I’m in my mid 20’s and active with a healthy diet)

Six widely used dietary supplements promoted for improving heart health – including brands of fish oil, cinnamon, garlic and turmeric – were not effective at lowering “bad” cholesterol more than placebo after 28 days of use. by MistWeaver80
Exactly! I was just looking up red rice yeast and it looks like they removed components that were originally present when they were concluded to lower cholesterol. You can’t win with anything!! I will say Maca root and Shatavari had studies for lowering cholesterol. I just had mine tested after taking them so I guess we’ll see!

Yes, it helped a ton. I took notes and will ask for a full panel cholesterol analysis next appt. Thankfully my HDL:triglyceride levels indicate I have low LDL-B, but it’s also genetic so I’ll have to see. Thanks :)
