I've thought about New Hampshire, I am paying 2100 rent for a small 2 bedroom in Lawrence, MA and that gets me slightly more than an hour morning commute into Boston. The problem is the closest places in New Hampshire (Salem / Nashua) pushes that up to to more than 3 hours a day commuting. Did that for 6 years, don't want to go back.

So the father removed his daughter as a health care proxy, is not contacting them, discharged himself, is not following medical advice but in your opinion is just going to happily move right in with them. I'm guessing you have some anger in you from being in a similar situation, but you don't know enough about this one to be preaching.

That said, Op I hate bringing this up but is there a possibility he has gotten into a problem with substance abuse? It's a pretty familiar story when someone stops paying the mortgage. Addiction is one of those things that can definitely over power the need for someone to pay the mortgage, especially for a year.

I ended up in Lawrence 2100 for a 2 bedroom, about a mile from the commuter rail. I'm still working remote, but may have to start going back into Boston a couple days a week. It got to the point I was looking in Southern New Hampshire.

Out of curiosity where are you looking? It's an unfortunate time for it, not very many vacancies and landlords are significantly raising rent. My landlord in Dracut raised the rent by 700 a month when my lease was up in August, it took 2 months to find a new place and I feel I lucked out as so many places had tons of applicants.

I lived there for 2 years from July of 2020 to July of this year. As others have pointed out, getting to the highway was a bit of a drag, it would take 20 minutes or so to get to 495 in the morning. My wife frequently hated on Dracut as there wasn't very much to do. They do have a nice library and the police seem significantly better funded than Lowell's. Renting may be tough unless you are already looking though, my landlord tried to raise the rent by 700 on a small 2 bedroom, and we had so many problems with the apartment that it just wasn't worth it to us. I looked for 2 months in the area and couldn't find anything.
