Adjusted for inflation it's the same cost as back then

Yeah the playoffs points chase is fun and all, what they didn't consider is the lengths drivers will go to in order to advance, aka, wreck the race and break the rules to improve their own odds to go to the next stage despite not being in front of the pack.

Cheaters are pathological liars who are willing to destroy the validity of the sport they claim to love, for their own personal benefit. you really don't need to justify it beyond that
