You must live in a tiny ass town or something. If I was to call my line I’d get laughed at and instantly hung up on. The police should not be doing anything for anyone in this situation. The non emergency number is for things like newly formed potholes or to report the guy you just saw run a red light, they’re not personal problem solvers.

No, you’re the guy who first said to call the non-emergency police number, which is a terrible idea. Then a few comments later you give the most logical and proper answer that should’ve been your first reply to begin with.
