Yes!!! That’s what I was thinking. It’s pretty comparable to Fitchburg. I have worked in both cities… They’re very economically depressed, poorly managed, way too many “human service” sites per capita, and lots of the population seems to have sort of given up.

ACCS isn’t great. The licensure requirements pushed a lot of very qualified managers and supervisors out of their jobs and put clinical staff in charge of the day-to-day crap of managing budgets and staff, more than actual providing therapy. Any LICSW or LMHC worth their salt seems to want to get out of ACCS asap.

Why don’t we ever hear about any local issues being protested? He was killed in Tennessee ffs. Meanwhile have you seen the rise in homelessness all over the city? The drug overdoses? The local violence? But ok- let’s protest something that happened thousands of miles away and has no direct impact on Worcester or even MA.

Honestly? There don’t seem to be many places that aren’t welcoming of trans people in Worcester. What are your specific interests? I would state your interests and maybe people can guide you more clearly.

My condolences, in a way… I’m born and raised in Worcester and live in nearby MA and Massachusetts November - April is a frozen hellscape, dark, grey, and dreary. I spent quite a bit of time in CA in my 20’s and it’s just… nicer. The climate is SO much better, the people were more relaxed (depending on where you are, of course) and it’s just more hospitable to commuting, waking, and being a human. Public transportation leaves a lot to be desired here (outside of Boston.) That said, welcome!
