Reply to comment by BernieSandersLeftNut in New fiber internet rolled out recently? by BernieSandersLeftNut
If it's any consolation I've noticed a lot of the buildings I work in have had fiber installed recently. I'm sure this is to get the most bang for their buck, and Lakewood being so densely populated it probably isn't too far off before it's pulled into entire neighborhoods.

I don't have fiber but I haven't noticed Cox being slow any evening this week. Right now I have 350 down and 12 up

Reply to Anyone live near Lakewood High School? Looking for pros and cons of buying a house about a block away. Thank you!! by dushonmandick
School is only in session 8-3 five days a week, and even then only like ten months out of the year, rest of the time it's just an empty building with a community gym. There's a lot of plusses about that neighborhood, especially right by Madison. Lots of cool businesses bars and restaurants. I lived four blocks away for ten years and the only real hectic event I remember were big St Ed's games a few times a year, which can actually be kind of cool.
Like anywhere in Lakewood street parking is hit and miss. Taxes are what some people would consider high, and depending where you're coming from I've known people to complain about noise. Those are all things to consider anywhere in the city but I'd say that part of town is busier than most.
