Homo Economicas... Unfortunately issue fatigue has become the rule any compelling argument ends up attached to someone who tells us what we want to hear not what we need to hear.... they cant get elected otherwise.

I believe that this ironically the reason we have extremism the dialectic is out of whack with real world needs..

Dont forget "the will to power" and our primitive aspects.

Desirabilty = An outcome that benefits.. ? Feasability = Developing an approach that will when applied will bring about the given outcome.. ?

There is something of "one hand clapping" here.

When an discussion occurs there are many motivations to participate. Understanding the topic or the other participants. Agenda support .. detraction .. Personal .. expression of ego .. build . support . teardown. Deal making ..

I did not read your essay because it is behind an email scraper...

But I would like to hear more.

Both and all sides are too far removed from the actual point of contact with reality.

We used to have traditions that were built on observations of nature over time. (no not perfect but we had an understanding that allowed for putting land fallow)

Now we have assumtions (economics... ) that drive our ships and rowboats of state city and household thru deep turbulent waters in which there be monsters.

success is defined by money and toys.

I would say you are thinking too much but you are spot on...
In an evolutionary sense we are pretty close to the best the monkey model can offer .... If and this is a big if. If we can step back from our instinctive responces and embrace more logic AI and humanity have a future together if not we have maybe 100 years before we fade to black.

I expect there is going to be problems with the accuracy of info from multiple sources and the oracles "google" "amazon" "wikipedia" are already under this issue. Time will tell if we can get past this AI left to its own development will solve this issue quickly because accurate data makes an accurate projection possible.

I suspect the big players want there to be no portable media so you are forced to either use the cloud or buy media like apple store music....

Master Switch is a great book that tries to remind us that the big players in media want our eyeballs back watching their narrative .... advertisements..

Planned obsolescence is mostly about greed but there certain products like Iphones and computers that have been going obsoleye due to increasing computational power... we are reaching a point where we could actually make a go of #2 but the likelihood of upper management seeing a benefit is low....

profit is the only goal for investors in general and fiduciary responsability to that goal guides the decision making process.

This problem stems from the definitions of success we teach in our schools our places of business and our places of governance. Many want to call the "fat cats" evil but they are just gaming the system as they have been taught.

In uni I had a prof who really explained the concept of a captured society... Every avenue that we have been taught to get change is gamed to lessen even negate the forces of the changes we seek.

It is the "captians of industry" who must see the flaw in their own perspectives...

The argument they hear cannot be an attack it must be logically sound and without judgement...

And how the heck does that work? Humans refuse to see their animal side the one that responds to buzzwords dog whistles and offers of inclusion.
