I always loved passing this as a kid. I even liked the smell (?!) and would roll the windows down to take a deep whiff until my mother said to stop giving myself cancer. Unfortunately she was probably right about that one lol. Sucks growing up and learning the way things are. Honeywell would gladly kill us all if it helps their bottom line

I am tired but made it through the holiday season unscathed. Roads weren't bad when I checked on Christmas eve eve so I went to the party, ate many cookies, and won a small Starbucks gift card. This season tempts my depression but we're doing alright.

Have you seen this 2023 moon calendar for sale locally? I think I bought it in person last year but I can't remember where. I only want one.

Happy almost new year if you're celebrating. If you're planning to go out, don't forget to plan how you'll be getting home safely ❤️

Dude, just say you're too privileged to understand and move on. You've been in the area for a minute and you think you know what it needs? Like I said, you'd be better off actually listening to neighbors who are dealing with this but with that attitude I can see why they wouldn't want to chat. Have a good one

This is not true. There are many families who want to stay in their homes and neighborhoods but can't keep up with rising taxes as their property value increases. In addition to higher cost of living in general when many members of the working class don't even get a 3% wage increase annually.

Maybe you should spend less time dreaming up ways to gentrify the neighborhood and more time talking to real people who live here and have for years.

Yeah, if you can hardly afford rent in a philly row home then just pack up your stuff and move to central PA or another state! Sure, it's harder to find affordable rent or a job or roommates or public transportation outside of a city and people living paycheck to paycheck can't actually afford to simply move to another state but I'll definitely keep that in mind. Gentrification is too hard of a concept to grasp to grasp despite us watching it play out in real time, good thing we have people like you to explain.

Hope all the "I'm not rich, I'm just comfortable!" people enjoy doing real, physically demanding work for joke wages because there won't be any attractions left when the workers get priced out of the city. Gonna see a lot more business owner tears and print outs about how no one wants to work

Affordable/minimal effort idea: collingswood. The lights look nice and they have a bunch of things to do throughout the next month, like free visits with santa

Or Dec 3rd, family night will have activities for the little ones and a fireside showing of frozen 2

If you want to make it a little less affordable, you could have brunch with the grinch. But you could also stop by for a treat after visiting with Santa and looking at free light displays. If you walk to the end of the shops, next to the one church there is a house with an insane amount of decorations. I feel like at 2.5 years old that would be as impactful as paying for a light show.

If you end up going to peddlers village, check out their calendar too. I think they do a parade?

Eta: I did forget that you asked for farms lol. Here, have a wagon ride at shady brook

Slow December but maybe The Spill Canvas next week? Lol, I can hardly believe I'm saying that in 2022

Maybe Patrick Watson at UT on the 8th? Maybe the moth grandslam on the 12th.

Thanks to seeing another comment here, maybe puppy angst on the 10th

My cat has a heart murmur and we're just hoping for the best at this point. The scan alone was cost prohibitive for me. And idk where we would have gone from there but I'm sure we wouldn't have been able to afford it. That was a few years ago and thankfully he's still his happy, active self. Wishing you and your pup good luck!

This sounds like the imaginary business coworkers would joke about opening while we dreamed of escaping our crap place of employment. Weird to see someone try to turn it into a viable business model but good luck I guess? I hope they have more experience with dogs than just the pandemic pup they recently adopted.

"Say it’s raining out. I still have to take him for a walk, and there’s not many parks available, and if there are, there are certain drawbacks to each of them, whether it’s they have trash or they’re dirty, and I got to give them a bath or whatever else."

So instead you...what, drive your dog to the dog bar to do his business? Lol

Eta: "Although toys will be sold, dogs cannot use them at the Boozy Mutt to minimize the risk of fights. Staff members, known as “rufferies,” will keep an eye on the proceedings. Dogs will be off-leash"

I don't know what these "rufferies" will be paid but I can already tell it's not enough
