Vermont is much more than "slightly" dependent on federal dollars.
A bit dated (2016) " Of the $5.7 billion Vermont budget in fiscal year 2016, roughly 35 percent — or $2.13 billion consisted of federal dollars. " (VT Digger)

The real question is, as a progressive will Balint be able to bring home the bacon..er pork to Vermont. I say no. How much funding has AOC secured for NY?...zero.
Vermont is hugely dependent on federal funding, we are a taker, not a giver state.
I think Gray would have been a far better choice to get that needed funding.

I did see a Boeing KC tanker on Flightradar24 yesterday flying over S. Vermont.
Probably refueling fighters which weren't shown.

If a wheeled machine, I'd look into dual wheel drive. Best being trac driven. The plowed snow banks at the end of the driveway will be the challenge , as well as the 4ft loop around your home with a "smaller" sized machine(miss one storm and that loop will become a battle!). You should get a decade(s) of use out of a machine so keep that in mind--it's a long term investment, don't scrimp. Factor in what you would be saving on plowing costs.

And yet, the state of Vermont, short near 700 staff positions already is going to add another 100+ state jobs to be filled due to the unaffordable heat act and the child care/family leave bills. Odds are stacked heavily against any success of the heat act right out of the gate. The carbon tax will have to escalate to cover the credits required by the 2030 time line. (written into the bill). Can't make this stuff up.
