I have to disagree with the comparison of chatGPT to a calculator. A calculator takes away the tedious process of doing a calculation but you would still have to problem solve to fully answer the question. A tool that produces essays removes a lot of the thought process behind the assignment

One purpose is to gauge how well a student understands a topic. In a history class you could ask a question such as: How did the conditions in Europe contribute to the rise of racism ?

That would be useful essay to have students write. Also one that could probably be easily done in chatGPT or similar

I mean, we probably can’t be immune to 100 trillion diseases because that’s more than the number of cells in the body. So is it more likely that our immune system can recognize closer to 50 diseases? 100 diseases? 1,000,000 diseases?

The fact that organisms can mutate/evolve is irrelevant because the question is about the “memory” capacity of the immune system
