This seems like a good thing - especially since every time I walk my dogs on a street cleaning day, I would often see them towing AWD cars not on a flatbed, which can damage the transmission. The punishment of getting your car damaged and dealing with the logistics of getting it back doesn’t fit the crime.

I hope they keep sending Paul Revere to warn us that the street cleaners are coming, because people will want to help do the right thing, but sometimes need a reminder.

Agree 100%. I saw a see click fix post requesting a do not enter sign for bikes - but honestly I doubt signage will make a difference. I assume people don’t use walker because it’s a fraction of a second more time to get to the quad - but it feels way safer since there’s no traffic there - I don’t understand why it isn’t used.

I walk on Shepard a lot with my dogs and it’s either escooters on the sidewalk forcing you off (at least it’s a wide sidewalk) or the students turning the wrong way into the opposite direction bike lane who forget they also have to yield in the crosswalk at Shepard. A cluster all around imo

While that setup isn’t great - I think the config where garden and Chauncy meet is much worse. The students going from Radcliffe to the square don’t cross to use the proper direction bike lane. They use the other one. For people turning left down Chauncy, they’ll look for oncoming bikers traveling in the correct direction, and could left-hook the ones coming the wrong way. In my mind, this seems like only a matter of time before it happens

This is in line with what we paid (and got multiple quotes for) in cambridge 1.5 years ago

Be sure to check out mass-saves too, because you may get efficiency benefits. I think technically ours was on the expensive side because we went with very quiet units, but even so it wouldn’t surprise me if that’s now a median price with supply chain and other cost increases.

Depending on the lease - it might not allow subletting (when I used to rent most of mine were worded that way, so I assume that still is the case). In that case, the moving roommates would either have to work it out with the landlord or pay the rent. Most likely, they’ll do neither and OP will be on the hook and have to go to small claims court.

Not sure why other posters are giving you such a hard time, the process is a joke.

I had 2 late last year where there were 3 spots. At the front, it said “no parking, tool truck, 1 spot”. I parked in the middle, behind a tool truck. They’re saying that since there wasn’t an end sign, it counts as a place I shouldn’t have parked.

I had even called the parking office when it happened and they confirmed it was allocated as just one spot, but since their cones get stolen they don’t always put out an “end” sign.

I’ve appealed with photos (denied) and did a hearing yesterday where they told me I had to appeal again (the hell was the point of the hearing then?)

I’m debating between writing it off, or emailing city council suggesting they reinstate using cones, since the parking officials seem to be falsely ticketing without them

Harvest has a walled off outdoor area - not indoor but not quite open air with cover either, depending on what you’re looking for
