Mind blowing movies I’ve seen lately:
Supervixens- exploitation 70s film, off the wall crazy, lots of nudity and over the top scenes not to mention the last 20-30 min of this movie are batshit crazy. I wouldn’t call this a great movie in any way, but it IS unlike just about any movie I’ve ever seen.
Bay of Blood- a lot of the kills in this one inspired the Friday the 13th kills, specifically the spear through the bed kill. Once again, the ending to this one made me say out loud, “what the fuck?!”.
Infinity Pool- David Cronenberg’s son Brandon directed this, starts off seeming like some weird version of White Lotus and quickly turns into something far more cynical and sinister. Mia Goth is absolutely amazing in this movie (see Pearl for more awesome Goth) and it gave me chills. The idea is pretty crazy and gets pretty cerebral.
Edit: adding Cruising to this list. Directed by William Friedkin (The Exorcist) starring Al Pacino as a homocide detective who goes undercover in the queer community to catch a a killer targeting gay men.

Did you see his more recent special Cold Lasagne Hate Myself 1999? Lol
His series of specials on Netflix are incredible.

I didn’t know about this podcast but just saw James Acaster and am instantly hooked. He’s hilarious.
Here’s my vegetarian skewed menu
Starter: Arepa de choclo from Cafe & Sabor
Main: Georgian Flatbread+Crispy Harissa Cauliflower from Blue Atlas (I picked 2 because they’re sharing portion type dishes)
Side: Cobra Cabana/Strange Matter tofu wings
Drink: 451 from Grandstaff & Stein
Dessert: Fried Cheesecake from El Chido

Hot for Pizza does horror movies on Mondays. WaxMoon is a great place for horror fans. Rest in Pieces is very macabre but def horror adjacent. As a massive horror fan and nerd, these are my go to’s. Oh and Hollywood Cemetery.

Hey fellow United fan, check out Breakers. They usually show the United games and are fans, also there’s a Richmond Red Devils group on Facebook.
Gus’ should also probably be showing it, but know it’s an Arsenal bar. Good luck and GGMU!

I have some Nike Tiempo Legend 8’s size 10.5 that are decent condition, black (more greyish) and baby blue and some old Adidas shin guards I can send pics later. $20 for the set?

Native Plate was good, first time going. Liked the apps we had, edamame, gochujang cauliflower and vegetable curry puffs. Our entrees were great too, for vegetarians the Indonesian fried rice is great, but their spice levels are either lackluster or tailored to people who think a dash of black pepper is spicy. I had level 3(highest level) and it wasn’t even as spicy as the gochugang cauliflower.
Regardless the food was great, the bar situation however, was so slow. There was 1 bartender on a Friday night during rush hour. Full bar, full restaurant minus 2 tables. Not exaggerating, our first drink order, which we ordered with apps, came after both our apps and dinner. I can’t even be mad at the bartender but dam management has to figure that balance out.

For all the shit people give (myself included!) Richmond's driving scene or should I say culture, I have to say it's AMAZING to have free parking in so many places, and in some places ALL DAY. Being from Miami, good luck finding parking anywhere near a restaurant or bar that doesn't cost about $3/hr, and even if you're willing to bite that bullet, you might have to do a few laps around the spot and still parallel park between some asshole's Lamborghini and another's neon-lit Slingshot.

I work in Richmond, spend a lot of time in Richmond, and drive and PARK in Richmond. It affects me just as much as it does anyone else who drives and parks in Richmond. That being said, I sort of agree with all of the sentiments in this thread.
All that to say, where I live is just MINUTES walking distance from the Richmond City line, so jokes on you, it actually very much so is LITERALLY about my surroundings. Also wouldn't call parking in a city a part of culture...

I get it. IMO soccer is one of the more tactically nuanced sports. I’d say of the “American” sports basketball and hockey are closest. So much ground to cover and the average player gets less than 2 minutes (more like less than a minute) of time on the ball for the entirety of 90min of open play so the little things that make a great player are harder to see or appreciate to the untrained eye. Like a great turn in your own defense to free up space and advance out I can appreciate more than just a run and tap-in goal.

I severely sprained it maybe a year and a half ago, this same ankle has been broken before, and I’ve sprained/rolled both ankles before so many times between skateboarding and soccer. But this one was really bad and I can feel the difference. I’d like to still try and do some rehab on it, it’s okay today but the second it gets wonky now I leave.
And the goal os to definitely still be able to play when I’m 40, hopefully even later.

2nd day of soccer in a row. 5 years ago I wouldn’t have thought anything of it. At 30 with a fucked ankle, it’s a bit concerning lol.
