I am replying to myself again. My grandpa and dad didn't have all of those slight of hand books for no reason. They used the same techniques to pull money from people. It was magic! No it wasn't. There was a reason why they went to prison for mail fraud, they knew people were dumb. And well, it was the 80's, so that was rampant. Religion was and is always easy. I have respect for those that use religion to help others, but that isn't so common anymore these days. See Joel Osteen, or JRC.

I am not a religious person, but John Stroup and his ministry was pretty good. No pressure, and even as a non believer please stay away from SJR. If you are Asian, there are Asian churches in this town as well. Stay away from places that require an income statement, or need it. I would say stick to churches that help the community, especially the homeless.

My favorite band to see live was Assuck. They played in Joplin. And there were so many angry cops there. They are or were a grindcore band from NY. They openly told the cops to fuck off. Then proceeded to light a joint and pass it through the crowd. Power in numbers sort of deal. I left. I don’t mind any of that, but uh I am an easy mark. So I left. But the music was beautiful. I don’t get too much in to 80s metal as you can tell. The style anyway.

My first concert as far back as I can remember was in Joplin. I think the coffee joint was the Java Bean? Crave and I think The Rowskabouts. My younger brother and I were latch key kids. So we wondered around a lot at night. I would sit downtown and hang out with the hat lady at the library. My favorite band was Initial Detonation.
