It's not just gaming, people in general seem a lot more decisive these days. It sort of boils down to a lot of people having the mindset of "If you don't agree with me 100%, you're wrong and you're against me and I don't like you, so pick a side"
Also, it's just easier to say "game bad, I'll play something good" than to get into a more nuanced conversation with random reditors you'll never talk to again

Partially because Covid and lockdowns and everything has screwed with many peoples perception of time, and partially because very few people actually use Windows 11, so it feels new

If it really bothers you that much, check protonDB or a similar tool to see how many of your games will run on Linux and consider switching

The only people I know that are using Windows 11 are people who don't know they're using it and aren't very computer literate. One day they woke up, turned on their computer, and the taskbar looked funny, so they just went with it
