What? How do we know they haven't been arrested? They could just be waiting for arraignment or court proceedings. They could have been convicted and let out, too. Point is, how would any of that "get them out of there"?

Absolutely! The costs are already high enough where I see plenty of people driving without a registered car or no license. This will only make it worse.

Costco had been doing this forever, even with no self checkout. I always assumed it's an insurance thing. It's not like it takes long. Who cares?

Reply to Vermont should have a 4 day work week by hunny_bun_24
While i totally agree and think there should be a 4 day work week, or will never happen until health care isn't connected to your employment. Universal Healthcare is the first brick to fall in order to have 4 day work week.
We have been trying to get Universal Healthcare legislation passed on a federal level since the 90s and have been discussing it since the 70s.

It's one of the oldest tricks in the book because it works. Curiosity gets to everyone.
There's a couple great examples on the show Mr Robot

Great point, that doesn't get brought up enough. The war on drugs actually hurts the environment as well.

This is Vermont, we don't have the budget to waste money on overnight plowing for no reason other than out of staters who can't wait

Your whole strategy is based on the fact that there will be overnight plowing. That only really happens on 89 or 91.
If your plan is based off plowing of other roads at night, it's a bad plan. Either go earlier, later, or you are just going on a prayer

That's a bad strategy. Pretty much only 89 or the major freeways get consistent overnight plowing.

Spot on. Contractors are in demand here. Why would a contractor waste their time on creating a bid and doing all the overhead work for a small job when they have big jobs right there?
With the costs of overhead here, putting out expensive proposals is the only way contractors are going to do the job.

Bingo. Until we finally redo federal health care, there is not much we can do. Instead of having proper health care, we are forcing the mentally ill and addicts on to other poor people
