come on. They recovered a gun, the entire incident is on film from every possible perspective, and there are dozens of uninvolved witnesses. This dude is pleading guilty and getting decades upstate.
This kind of reflexive, unthinking negativity is so counterproductive. We will never fix the issues in this city if the base-level discourse is this detached from reality. I promise you, you can still criticize Krasner plenty without making up things to get mad about. (edited grammar)

Lazer has always struck me as way more competent, focused, and dedicated than most Philly politicians/bureaucrats. Would not be surprised or upset if we start seeing him be given more and more responsibilities over the next few years.

Just anecdotal evidence, but I grew up in the burbs—a really nice one tbh—and have run into classmates on the El suffering from addiction. Have family members who have ended up down in Kensington addicted to heroin.
I always joke that if you’re raised in the suburbs you end up in the city, one way or another: either for college, for a better job, or with a drug addiction. All the “City Bad Suburbs Perfect” people never want to hear it though.

Genuinely the dumbest take imaginable, but if you’re addicted to your simplistic narratives and too small to cut it in the real world, you’re gonna end up grasping at straws. It’s fucking embarrassing.

If you get invited to a party you should explain your really interesting and unique views to people instead of watching the game.

I definitely believe that lol. Must be confusing to have feelings that are so contradicted by reality though. Anyway, enjoy the Super Bowl!

because without football you'd have to find another excuse to post tired shit like this, the sole purpose of which is to make yourself feel superior.

well according to lots of folks on this sub, it should be an oasis since it is a suburb and not Philly. Weird how it's never that simple.
But I would not. It is pretty economically depressed and does not have much to do. Which is really weird when I think about it. The NHSL should make it really attractive to commuters into Philly---it is a really efficient way to get into the city, and I wish it was maintained better. Also the Courthouse should be a decent economic anchor, bringing lots of highly educated professionals to the area and giving local restaurants and stuff steady business. A college is nearby, and it is walkable. It has a lot of the same features that have made a place like West Chester thrive over the last 15 years or so.
All that aside, I would not bet on it, sadly, and would look elsewhere.

That’s a great point. Are there any like, special shops in Kennet Square that sell good mushrooms? Like a farmers market or mom and pop shop or anything

I don't think stairs would be a great idea because disabled and elderly people deserve to use SEPTA too. But yeah, the other things would be helpful. A solution that doesn't just throw people into jail which just perpetuates the problem, but actually could yield results

I agree. Was just out in CC for the first time in a while and was shocked at how active it was. I really hope you are right--the city needs positive momentum. It has a lot of problems, but imo has way more potential than a lot of other cities in the country. The next two or three years--and the next Mayor--will really be huge.
Also just get ready for a bunch of negadelphians who spend 18 hours a day bouncing between Citizen and Reddit and Facebook to post some braindead nonsense in the comments here about how "nobody wants to come to KRASNERS Killadelphia" or whatever the newest thing is.

Yes. And you can criticize that case. You have.
But this is actually a different incident with different people and different characteristics. Kneejerk reactions based on unrelated incidents are stupid and counterproductive. They also lessen your credibility on the other stuff that actually warrants critique.
You're in the burbs right? Why did you let yourself get the Krasner brain disease when you don't even live here? Such a waste.
