It's possible we've seen a jump and it will take time for the next one, in that case we'll see many many cool stuff that uses these new capabilities far more then what we've seen, but still just rendering images, audio and text. In that case it might take a few years for the next jump, say in 2026-7 bringing us just on schedule with a final jump at 2029 as per Kurzweill predictions.

These new usages of transformers are cool, but for a jump towards hard takeoff Sam Altman think something else is needed.

Not AGI yet, but this year will be crazy and the future will get crazier, I love it...

I think we'll need something for better personalization so your AI actually has context on you.

In today's world knowledge is abundant, it's the ability to acquire the knowledge and the ability to understand it is what matters.

If you can find the answer on Google for the test you'll be able to find it when you need it.

Any test that is still trying to measure knowledge and not ability is an outdated pointless test

Microsoft has at least a billion dollar stake in OpenAI

DeepMind is owned Alphabet

The AI assistant chatbot or robot kind of tasks are done best by OpenAI and their models

The generative science and strategy is best done by models developed by DeepMind

But none of them have found a good way to properly evaluate the model response for truthfulness

So it's going to be interesting, I believe that in a year or so Twitter AI will be able to start properly addressing this issue

I've just finished making changes to a client Microsoft 365 environment. I've had some issues during the process because it's a hybrid environment.

chatGPT was able to tell me what is the proper command to use in order to achieve my goal and then wrote a quick PowerShell script to do it.

I have had to do very minor changes, it must have saved me at least an hour
