You technically did not break any of the rules, in essence because the professor was given these items to use in the gallery it was his problem. The TV was not changed back to the right channel and the necklace being taken and worn was no fault of yours either. I think the professor paid the price, I would have ran and not looked back as well.
Hopefully whoever takes over the gallery reads the rules - also sounds like they need a sign in so they know peoples last names!

I was just thinking the same thing, It would be so hard not to do some deep dive research on the "hospital" but then again dont want to bring any attention to yourself. Especially with the creepy painting and people in the corn field it almost makes me think of soul stealing, no thanks!

This was a great read! Ive always had a thing with hospitals and doctors but this gave me the jeebies!

They did not want to let you escape easily, good thing you kept yourself alert to the van. Sounds like they were preying on people, do you think your old company had anything to do with it - being they hosted the blood drive at the beginning and then the van kept showing up around the company? Creepy!

Something that struck me after reading,

There are a lot of disappearances in which the hikers dont come back from this area, but yet your "daughter" was found. It seems shes special if she was taken and replaced instead of just missing forever. Maybe the replacement child is much like someone in the comment mentioned, shes a "replacement" of sorts? Maybe to test the ability of said species to learn,grow and adapt into the human race and eventually return to "home" and share.

Also, odd that when she was first found she wasnt trying to escape just enjoying the little burrow. But when you put her back she wanted out, Im not sure that youll find your daughter or ever get a swap back but seems like wherever your daughter is now, is not a place anyone would want to be

Seemingly the place where this thing came from was yes, originally in Maia's mirror BUT also the mall and other mirrors too so be careful of the other mirrors in your home for now. Possible that the entity promised Maia things and instead confused and drained her but unlocked a portal of sorts through mirrors in general?
