Business is already at max throttle automating anything that can be automated. I am in factory automation and our current project reduces manpower from 7 to 3 on an agricultural process.
Let's not forget how willing management is to tip the apple cart, if they get to keep more apples to themselves. They will view white collar the same way they view blue collar: an expense to be minimized.

He can. And by your participation, you get to make them even more money so I guess that's a wash.
Those robots they're rolling out don't steal. I'm sure your spot is pretty hard to automate tho

You just described stealing from the company.
Maybe you didn't mean to but I figure it should be pointed out.

I worked on airplanes. High responsibility. High stress. Low appreciation from customers. Usually high cost of living areas. Mandatory 12 hour days when the schedule stacks up. And for all that, $35/hr. It seems like great money until $1500/mo rent, insurance, and all the other problems of living in the Northeast.
It wasn't worth it. Mistakes can cost lives, mistakes can cost freedom, and when the job goes over flat rate, "why aren't you done?"
I cashed out my 401k and moved my family to the woods. Got a place for $500/mo and made a new plan. Struggled the first 5 years but now we're on track

Yeah, Roombas skeeve me out because they're mapping and cataloging the insides of our homes. This particular gem will have cameras, microphones, speakers, and bipedal locomotion.
I sure hope there's an offline version

This is why I'm excited about automation. The other person who posted is right about people not wanting to give up their influence, but I think the body politick will push back when the time comes.
