That I speak Spanish because I am Hispanic.
In college, in the late 90s, I was once criticized for majoring in engineering instead of Chicano studies. By a milk-white blond kid. At UC Berkeley. WTF was I going to do with a Chicano studies degree? It was so far off of my radar I laughed in his face. I wanted a J-O-B when I graduated.
