I never buy books. I read way too much for that, I’d be both bankrupt and drowning in a house of pages. Libraries are wonderful.

Reply to Reading in social situations - unacceptable? by Foo321
I’ve wondered this too… nobody thinks there’s anything weird about walking down the street absorbed in a screen, but if I read a book while walking, I get looked at like I’m a lunatic.

I save them on a list in my library account. Then I remove them as I check them out (though I’m closing in on 1000 titles, so the odds of me ever reading all of them is pretty much nonexistent)

I’m in the minority with you, then — I absolutely did not enjoy this book at all.

Reply to What are your "reading goals"? by basketsnbeer
I don’t generally set goals related to reading, because it’s something I do for relaxation and I know that once I turn it into something goal-driven, it will just stress me out. (I do have a “goal” for the Goodreads challenge, but I usually read way more than whatever random number I chose anyway, so I don’t get all aggravated over it.)

My mom does this and it drives me nuts. I always tell her that if I ever write a book, I’m withholding the last chapter from her until she’s read the rest.

Escapism is a big benefit! I also find that I have a lot of random knowledge because I read so much.

Reply to Our Wives Under the Sea is the BEST book I've read in a long time and I just wanna talk about it by Starlit-Sage
I THOUGHT I would love it, but I absolutely did not. I'm glad it was short so I only lost a couple of hours of my life to it.
