A significant amount of the topsoil in this area is contaminated with lead among other things which is why generally home gardeners are advised to use raised flowerbeds. I'm all for trees, but unfortunately I think this is a dream that we're not eligible for. I suppose we could bring in soil and test but it raises the bar to start.

can we just acknowledge that wind blows in different directions all the time? I understand there are prevailing patterns but I feel like a lot of people on the sub lean hard into the idea that the wind never blows east in this region. It's WIND for goodness sake...

I was recently in this situation and decided to take a nice camera and tripod to Phipps as early as possible. It was funny because I decided to do this in mid December, the Christmas decorations were up so there was actually a little bit of traffic. Phipps is really designed for single file walking, so in about three minutes I'd bewildered a whole lot of mostly older people who were so confused why I would be in a hurry to get through the conservatory. I went into the big jungle room, quickly snapped like 100 selfies in the hopes I would get one for a smile like a normal human, and then since I was in a jungle in December I brought a book and just read for an hour and soaked up the humidity and left.

according to Dr. Emily Schoening of the YouTube channel American resiliency, Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Illinois all have pretty good climate change out looks by 2050, but Ohio doesn't and I find that objectively hilarious.

Osso's down in Washington. Cash only cheap and served fresh (implication being that if you call in advance and order some it is almost never ready to simply buy and take away when you get there but that's probably for the best). thin crispy square slices, they cook it in giant sheets with just the sauce on it but I think that helps caramelize some of the sugars in the tomato sauce so when they throw the cheese and pepperoni on it all melts into a nice little thing. It's a childhood pizza for me so I'm biased.

I am really deeply excited for this but if you think I'll be convinced to drive on it the same weekend as the first blizzard of the season you'll have to try harder you dumb coyote
