Frost lines are not related to drainage. They are only a concern with footing depth for buildings where freeze thaw can cause damage and heave to the soil supporting the structure.

PVC gets brittle and will break then collapse blocking your efforts in only a matter of a few years. Use the black pipe, it should be HDPE.

Bottom of hill comments = runoff to me. French drain won’t work as the water needs to absorb to get to the drain. Swale your yard and give the water some where to go.

Last resort would be to create dry diversion beds out of decorative landscaping rock. You have to line the trenches with landscaping fabric. Never use woven fabric, water does not pass it well, use the punctured fabric.

Sorry for the diatribe, I’m a civil engineer/ nerd.

It’s a valid point you make. I couldn’t care either way of you were in the navy other than to say thanks for your time spent there.

The reason I like to use opinion is simply that using the word fact means right or wrong, my way of no way. Is a cloudless sky blue yes, that’s factually correct.

In politics, there are very few facts. In science there is theory, but very little fact or Law as those nerds call it. Both scientific theory and politics evolve over time.

To be honest, I lean liberal, but I also don’t want the whole world thinking like I do. It’d be a god awful boring place. I appreciate other people’s views.

So if there’s something you want to chat about, I’m all ears.

It understanding that based on different people’s upbringing and experiences they would different stances on many issues, right?

The question I have is whether or not you are open to also having your views change?

I can freely admit I am not an expert on all subjects and while I may have opinions and reasons for certain views, they may not be correct when viewed through certain lenses.

I can’t imagine you have the answers to everything.

I’ve lived in a few states (Indiana, North NJ, and PA). My family and I relocated back to PA mostly for cost of living and a better balance of life. Work is work and the time you are at work is part of life, but I will say simple things like going to the store and running errands are not as time consuming and cumbersome.

It is certainly a change of pace with less of the 24hr access to bars and restaurants, but in the long run I’m a firm believer that it’s a good life.

I grew up outside of Reading and while the city has seen better days, the surrounding areas are pretty nice.
