SnS definitely owned it, and they held on to it so another competitor would not move in.

However, the town council supposedly put pressure on them to sell since everyone is eternally pissed off about the development of an open field with an old oak (?) tree in the center down the street while this remained a vacant eyesore.

Husband commutes to the island each day and said it was a clusterfuck - is what is up now permanent?

Edit: They did this to create more parcels for development and create an "innovation hub"? Are you kidding me? What snake oil salesmen came up with that line of bullshit?

It depends on your child's needs. Many districts are great as long as your child does not need significant supports, others are better if you need more. If you need significant supports, you will likely have to be ready to fork over $$$ to live in those towns. Ours has been great with my son, but he is in an integrated classroom with minor support.
Edit: If you have not already joined the RI Special needs group on FB, that is a good place to ask as well. They are boots on the ground so to speak. You will get a lot of folks who are eternally pissed off though.

We have quite a few - but we live in the woods. You don't see them as often if you live in a densely populated area.

My husband is from Munich and I would like to see one of these here as well.
It's just nice....I've always felt like fun things in RI barely exist once it gets to this stage of the year. We just invite family and friends over during the winter - eat, and drink in the house until it gets warm again.

Snowbirds exist. Would not be the last bit surprised if someone's grandpa lives six months out of the year in FL and registers his car down there to avoid auto taxes. My grandmother was one for years, lived at Aunts house when it was warm and lived with friends in FL when it was cold up here.

I am not a fan of McKee, however during Covid I was a "frequent flier" with the testing centers because of kids. (We should have gotten a punch card and a free sub sandwich)

When Kalus' company took the testing centers over it was fucking horrible. Overnight decline. Left the paperwork for my kids tests on a random table, lost multiple tests, crazy long lines, etc etc. It was unbelievable to the point where I tried to go to the website to file a complaint (full Karen). Their website at the time looked like it was made by Wix. It was the most unprofessionally made thing I had ever seen and you only had an option to fill out a form and someone might call you back (...they didn't).

My point is that if Kalus claims to be a business woman who can't even run a business with butt-tons of unrestricted govt money being thrown at her, how the hell is she going to run a state?
