Happy to help. Also pro tip, it's pronounced clay-lock. Not kal-a-lock.

Yep, there's a campground about 5 minutes up the road and a hotel beachfront right next to it.

I wouldn't be too terribly surprised.

Can't say that I have. I'm always open to recommendations, though. What do I need to see up there?

This was taken on Mt. Spokane near Spokane, WA. I was heading back down the mountain after a day shooting landscapes further up.

I took this photo because I am a sucker for god rays. There was just enough mist in the air to catch the light, but not enough to obscure details or cause a foggy look.

The Hoh National Rainforest presents an interesting challenge. During golden hour, the area underneath the canopy will be pitch black. During the day, you will have some pretty ugly overexposure in the background. I did my best to put emphasis on the vibrant, lively greens while letting the wood fade away into the darkness. I wanted the texture of the moss to come through. I wanted to accentuate the way light falls in shafts through precious few spaces in the foliage above.
