This...
Whenever I reach an intersection, I most of the time have my foot on the break. Even when I see someone that will join the road from the right or left I put my foot on the break and be ready for it.
Why? Because it happens few times and having my foot on the break saved my life. I recommend everyone to do that.

My uncle just emigrated from Lebanon a few months ago and when he came to Canada, he couldn't believe the difference at the beginning, it was a shock for him.

Little old article, but what I can tell you is that it got much much worse as of now compared to a year ago.
Just search "Lebanon Electricity Crisis"

I would describe not having food to eat and none of the government facilities working as intended and not finding jobs and a full month of your work is only worth 100$ where the prices went ×50 higher as hell on earth.

It is really hell on earth. I have relatives who live there and for the most, they are using other forms of food reservations besides fridges (salt, dry meat...)
They have small batteries that they recharge in this one hour that they can use for one light in the house for the rest of the day.

Just an interesting fact. People in Lebanon and some other parts of the world get only one hour a day of electricity.

I'm honestly tired of 99.99% of tech news being about Apple, Meta and Alphabet. Give us something more interesting already, come on people. How the Quantum Computers going for example, and what about other cools new interventions that will change the field. For example AV1 that will flip the streaming field and video storage industry upside down.

And this is exactly why I said inconsistency.
If it one time a genetic and the other time it is not genetic. Then it is clearly shouldn't be taken as a reliable data. Hell, it shouldn't be even taken as assumption.

The inconsistency man. You said "we don't know why" and then in the next second you said "it is partly genetic luck".
