Have you used one? The apps restrict where you can park them, you have to take a picture of them to verify and if you park them improperly the user gets fined. What can the scooter company do to prevent a random drunk pedestrian from picking up a parked scooter and tossing them in the harbor?

What do you propose the city do to the scooter companies? They have paid for a permit to operate in the city to provide transportation. They already don't want their scooters in the harbor to begin with as it is a loss of revenue and then they have to pay to replace the scooter. The company itself isn't the ones tossing them into the harbor.

I don't think the people riding dirt bikes illegally through the city just want a place to ride safely....

Not only that, but how do you expect people to get the dirt bikes there to ride them in the first place? Not like they are going to load them up on a trailer and drive them to it.

Can someone explain how this may impact the normal person's everyday life? As long as my card still works at the Gym, the pools in the summer, the trails are maintained to go running and the tennis courts are lit I'm a happy camper.

Edit: This wasn't rhetorical, I am genuinely curious how this is going to impact day to day life for a very average CA member.

Parts of deep creek I have had cell service with T-mobile and parts I have had absolutely nothing, same with my friends who had Verizon at the time. It has been three years since I've been.

As far as places I've been surprised where service sucked, no not at all, only been exceptional cases far from home.

you will be fine in Columbia, don't expect that to be the same if you go anywhere rural on vacation. Mint uses the Tmobile network which I use and is completely fine 99% of the time, though I've been on vacation and just had zero cell service when people I'm with who have verizon have full coverage. To be fair though the places were the middle of no where on ski trips or in national parks. Both places I am not near often, but the chances of me needing a cell phone for an emergency there are quite high compared to being home.
