that is super dependent on where but generally the closer you are to NYC/PHI, the more options you will have.

the most dense parts of the states (in particular, the north east heading to central east parts) are well covered by train, light rail, and bus. I have lived in passaic, essex, and bergen counties, the majority of cities/towns there will have very good coverage.

if you go to the more rural parts in sussex or south in the pinelands, your options drop quickly. Do not live in rural NJ if you do not have a car.

Don’t listen to all the broke babies here. Everyone has the same opportunity to buy if they want. Rent it out.

The only thing I would add is with rates the way they are now your profit margin on a single unit is probably low. If you were living in the other unit solidly worth it still.

A few minutes down the hall

But when I went into the office dependent on where I lived. Work has mostly been in Morris county but I only lived there for a few years. Upwards of an hour pre move, then I lived 10 min away

Many commute in NJ because there’s a lot of hubs but not everyone lives in those hubs.

Minute man bbq in Morristown is by far the best I’ve had in the state. Good whiskey bar too. Hilariously the Morristown shoprite has smokers and makes decent ribs.

I’ve not had but red white and que is supposed to be legit too.

Jim dandy’s is what most bbq is like up here. It’s fine but def not real bbq.

Lol granted I do the same thing with stuff from that era, but 1980s are coming up on 50 years ago. The Jewish community was always in that area (along with the Italians) The Italians just largely got displaced by Hispanics more downtown than in the 3rd ward park and rosemwar area

Also for food check out jaimitos (technically Clifton) and el fogon. Both great Peruvian places.

Between $3-5 depending on how far it is. The only time it’s going to be more than $5 is if you’re bringing multiple things and you can’t carry in one trip to the door

This topic is always a magnet for idiots who like to pretend they tip $20 for take out lol

your best bet at that price point will likely be rutherford or nutley. No more than an hour is really limiting, even for places physically close to NYC. You underestimate how much that commute in will blow.

Dover is not dangerous or a dump like a Newark or something like that, but it is obviously less nice than the rest of the county. Its schools are also lower ranked than the rest of the county.

There's a reason it is lower priced.
