Reply to Actors who went to Acting School vs Actors who did not. Which list do you prefer? by Dry_Western_2342
Fun fact: in several episodes of Inside the Actors Studio Bradley Cooper is among the audience members compromised from students of The New School. In the episode where Robert De Niro was a guest, Cooper got to ask a question to a fellow acting school student and future co-star.

First thought: Amy Adams being on the "no acting school" list, I'm slightly dumbfounded. I'll bet anything she at least had drama class in high school.

CBS playing it safe with what (usually) works for them. Though it borrows a bit from Castle, also involving a mystery writer.

Breaking Bad (2008)
Sony and AMC were initially reluctant to cast Bryan Cranston because of his previous comedic roles. They approached John Cusack and Matthew Broderick for the role of Walter White. When they both declined, Vince Gilligan was able to cast Cranston. However, the rumor of John Cusack being offered the role of Walter has been debunked by Cusack himself in a 2020 Guardian interview, when he claimed no such offer ever came through his agents, and even asked Gilligan himself who denied making a formal offer for the role.

Matthew Broderick was first offered that role.

He's part of the subset of the Hollywood MAGA crowd that were able to get by on their good looks. I include Dean Cain and Antonio Sabato Jr among them.
Also, Sorbo's Kull the Conqueror movie was going to be- at least in the mid 80's- the third Conan the Barbarian movie. In short, thanks to Sorbo's input, it became a glorified feature length episode of his Hercules series, staying well within his comfort zone.

If you aren't old enough to remember, Charlie Sheen was one of Heidi's clients.

Reply to Is it time to end RottenTomatoes? by hasanahmad
I remember the minor controversy when Get Out's perfect Rotten Tomatoes score was voided when the review by contrarian critic Armond White was added. It proves not everyone loves (or is going to love) a "Certified Fresh" movie. And anything that gets a rotten green symbol isn't a movie that everyone is going to hate. In a way, it's taken too seriously, because I still remember old fashioned newspaper/magazine movie and TV show reviews. On some occasions, critics and mass audiences are on the same page with critical raves and excellent box office or viewership. But there's definitely an underlying issue when there's a higher RT critics score and an low/average RT audience score.

I remember writing a paper on Cameron's movies at college in 1996-97. The treatment of Jamie Lee Curtis's character was one thing I didn't hesitate to mention as being an outlier among the female characters in movies written by Cameron..

Seinfeld would have been a case of getting yanked off the air on broadcast TV, based on the early episodes.

Whether she made a sincere apology or not, I didn't make the decision to cancel her show.

The Fox Super Bowl broadcast also made mention of their Fox Nation streaming service and the Roseanne comedy special that's exclusively on it. Big whoop, I say.
