It's possible that indian lake is a weather barrier as it seemed that it was a barrier to the significant snow during this storm, because when it was falling in the western parts of the city and the hilltowns consistently during Monday night it seemed that the rain/snow line was like a half mile/mile north of the lake usually and the traffic on 190 seemed to significantly level off once you got to the lake portion of it.

Yea that's true, pretty certain most of the city is in the northeastern sea plain (for Massachusetts) Climate while I believe the areas above 800' elevation are in the southern worcester plateau climate. I feel like the terrains between 400-750 feet used to get significantly more snow than they have recently.

Definitely, I could be wrong but it feels like the snowfall differences between the west of worcester and the majority of worcester are becoming somewhat more drastic over time.

Yea I hope that area is safe, definitely one of the harder hit locations. I think alot of it had to do with specific temperature because it was just about a degree or 2 warmer than 32 during the majority of the storm. Then again idk for sure like I live in an elevated spot above 600' also just a completely bizarre storm.

I called it and it was more like 27" inches in paxton and 6 (atleast where I live) in worcester

The terrain above 850 feet and especially above 1000 feet this time of year usually can see significantly more snow than surrounding lower terrain but now they are showing this snow as being more widespread according to the nws so who knows what's gonna happen lol

Believe it or not up to this point worcester/holden has been near record levels of how little snow there's been. Worcester is quickly not really as much in the snow belt as it used to be (atleast it's felt much more like that in recent years)

No, I actually respect that part of town. The metro Boston yuppies have already taken over the northern part of Kelly Square, even though this part has problems I find that alot of the people that live over there are tough and impoverished but lots of good, real people.

During the Christmas season, the target had more people in it than I've ever seen before. More people on the days before Christmas compared to even Black Friday. Plus they blocked off the main corridor because of the lines. Staff likely felt no motivation to clean up during this period. Also the milk aisle at that target smells horrific.

I know we make up for snowfall later in the year, but the fact that it's so frigid with no snow on the ground at all especially during Christmas doesn't feel good, this whole weather pattern way too destructive.

Yea that's true, even though I guess I technically live in a "better" walkable neighborhood (burncoat) still is a pain to get to parks considering most of them have no sidewalks to get to. One park I do like to walk to though is Dodge Park, really interesting forest and there are sidewalks (atleast on one side lol) to get there but yea this city can be a pain in the ass to walk/run through
