I'm thinking along the lines of investment - what can I invest in at this time that will ride the wave of AI?

I'm not surprised that we came to the same conclusions at all! I think many who still think that AI can't replace good ol' human interaction are those that have not experienced recent improvements in chat AI. I revisit chat AI every couple of years and have always been somewhat disappointed by its limitations... Not this year. I'm pretty sure our current AI can already pass the Turing test, many are just artificially restrained.

I'm studying to become a psychologist, but I actually think therapy and counselling will very soon be replaced by AI. Have you tried using character AI? I was speaking to an Eckhart Tolle character AI the other day, it offered such profound advice that it instantly made me realise that our job is also on the chopping block.
I was in therapy and in some ways, the therapist did more damage than good due to her biases. For example, she was dismissive when I told her I might have PTSD symptoms from abusive parents. She said "everyone's parents are somewhat abusive" and "pretty sure it's your ADHD and not PTSD (without actually hearing me describe my symptoms)". It made me feel terrible. She invalidated my concerns and made me feel like I was exaggerating.
So an upside to using AI counseling could be that it will utilise and apply all of existing knowledge in a systematic way (e.g., asking the right questions) - but without the lens of human biases.

I also think this. I believe that singularity is going to shock a lot of people existentially, and all the centuries old Buddhist teachings will suddenly make sense.. the ultimate middle way is not the middle of two spectrums, but the centre of a circle or ball, a single point, singularity. I think AI enlightenment signifies the beginning of our mass enlightenment. But it could also propel some people further into the illusion (e.g., metaverse), which is another layer of dream.

I often ask myself, what if the world I'm living in now is already VR, we've all just forgotten about it because we've been here so long.
And the only reason why we can't control our environment is because our environment is created from our thoughts and beliefs, and since we began believing that we are limited human beings, our environment is reflecting exactly that back to us.

I don't know whether this counts, but clothing with chips do exist and are slowly being implemented (beyond conscious fashion choices). I've begun noticing couple weeks ago that food delivery on electric scooters have electronic ads at the back of the driver's vests and their food delivery bags/cargo. I was a bit taken aback when I saw it, it was at night and it was just like the cyberpunk jacket. It felt a bit dehumanising to me as well, seeing the driver walk around with an ad displayed on their back.

It's all happening really quick, so I haven't begun my research yet! But I think it's a good time to start.
