Yea the title alone says a whole bunch of nothing. “Everyone is wrong except me”

Great way to look at it, it’s much more important to squeeze the maximum out of your system. Efficiency over excess

Reply to Based on what we've seen in the last couple years, what are your thoughts on the likelihood of a hard takeoff scenario? by bloxxed
I feel like a hard take off would not go well for humanity. We need to be able to adapt to a higher intelligence or else it’s paper clips for everyone. Inevitably things will move fast but we need to find ways to adapt. There are gonna be some pretty heavy challenges to overcome for an enjoyable singularity.
I would love to hear what those at open ai have to say on the topic.

What if we’re in a hive mind right now and you’re just stuck in a glitch that keeps you in one person’s perspective of their life?

Possibly, but I think that you need “pillars” to support the “building” were trying to make. If we never optimized smart phone cameras and the internet I don’t think we would have the proper infrastructure to train our current AI models.

I can see why resources would be a concern if our current capabilities and far as energy and infrastructure don’t match our ability to sustain near immortal population.
But given our current rate of progress I’d say issues like that can be dealt with in way less than 100 years, let’s see what happens.

Sure technically it did, but it won’t take nearly as long to do twice as much. That’s why the curve goes up the way it does.
