Reply to "Even a $7,000 Rent Doesn’t Guarantee Dogs Get to Walk Through the Lobby" In some New York City buildings, the four-legged pets are not welcome everywhere. Their owners must carry them or use a service elevator. by CactusBoyScout
This is not new. I worked in a luxury rental building in 2004, and tenants had to carry their dogs. Also, the building had a weight limit for dogs - prospective tenants had to have their dogs weighed. We had a scale in the leasing office. I am not joking.

Reply to TIL John Byner was originally cast as Mork from Ork on Happy Days, but found the premise ridiculous and quit days before filming, leading Robin Williams to be called in last minute by LoneRangersBand
I mean, it was ridiculous, but it was also a paycheck from a network and you really don’t get many of those chances in a career.

Reply to TIL 1950s/60s songwriter Doc Pomus had polio as a child, resulting in serious mobility issues. On his wedding day he was unable to dance with his new wife Willi Burke, a dancer. Watching her dance with the other male guests inspired him to write the song "Save the Last Dance For Me". by big_macaroons
There’s a wonderful documentary about Doc. It’s on YouTube.

Reply to It’s been fun, but can we please stop the NJ region posts? It’s getting a little old and it’s all I see in this feed now. by READlbetweenl
Telling people you’re tired of something is guaranteed to stop all activity in that area.
