There are a lot of scientific reasons that we do know roughly how smart dinosaurs are, and the answer is the smartest dinosaurs were about as smart as the dumbest modern day birds.

We have fossil records of Oculudentavis khaungraae, which is a dinosaur less than three inches long that lived 100 million years ago.
If there were intelligent civilizations before us we would absolutely know.

The show Impractical Jokers often used the fake company Maya Sol during bits where they pretended to represent a company. One of the Jokers told a story about a woman running into them and gushing about how huge a fan she was and how she already planned to name her daughter Maya but thought it sounded so pretty that she decided to give her the middle name of Sol after seeing it on the show and they had to awkwardly explain to her that it was supposed to be read as My Asshole.
