Reply to I have a question for you nonfiction readers... why do you read nonfiction? by Bilbobaginses1
I think my love for learning leads me to reading more nonfiction books. Going to college definitely played a role as well.

This is one of the main reasons why I want to get more into fiction in 2023. I’m such a nonfiction nerd, but it is mentally exhausting because it’s so much educational/serious stuff. Idk what it is, but I have such a hard time getting into fiction. We’ll see if that changes in 2023.

Reply to Opposing viewpoint book pairings? by MarioP79
“What’s the Matter with Kansas?” By Thomas Frank and “The Righteous Mind” by Jonathan Haidt present two different arguments as it relates to why certain political groups (particularly conservatives) make the choices they make politically. Frank argues that conservatives make the choices they make not within what is their best economic interests. Haidt argues that conservatives ARE voting their interests because their bigger concern is what is taking place morally in the country.

Reply to A lot of people take kindness for weakness, that’s why costumer service workers get mistreated. by PokeManiac16
And this is why it will take years for places to get back to normal in terms of having customer service workers because many are tired of the shit they have to put up with from customers. Like someone said, customers being acting shitty towards the workers because they know that the sustainment of the business depends on their spending of their money, so it’s a shame, but it’s a part of the customer service culture. You gotta have tough skin to work in customer service.
