Critters 3 and 4 were filmed back to back, so maybe the opportunity was technically there?
There was a surprising degree of continuity over the series for such a set of films.

There's a lot of good and probably even great directors who are not considered A-List. There's also some considered A-List who are a bit whiffy, I'm sure.

The Castle, The Dish, Mad Max, Mad Max 2 (none of this Road Warrior rubbish and don't get me started on any American dubs).
Mad Max 3: Beyond Thunderdome of course (BUST A DEAL FACE THE WHEEL)

I think they're just using someone who's still alive but around for a few decades as an example as to how much the population has grown.

Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead had Christopher Walken as The Man With a Plan who was a crime boss confined to a wheelchair and he was still terrifying!

No, she's also awful. Just slightly less so than those more awful people.
Unless of course the plot twist is that redemption arc is also awful (and not what we'd think is something that passes for redemption).

Aeon Flux the movie was too weird for regular audiences but not weird enough for fans of the animated show.

I have some relatives whose relatives were some of the most famous film directors in Sri Lanka. They could have met Steven Spielberg when he was filming Temple of Doom but they were busy doing something else. A lot of their crew met him, though.
Here ends my almost anecdote.

Paul McGann was a great Doctor too both in his last appearance to date especially and audio and we have this movie to thank for it.

Well, the Master certainly has been jealous of the Doctor so taking over a paramedic is a step in the right direction!
