I love the HD599 and for the sale price which they are frequently at, there is not much better. If they sound good to you, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. The HD599 puts up a hell of a fight for its price (though its normal RRP is too high, it seems to rarely go for that in the UK at least). I know I have recommended them many times on this sub and other forums.

The actual sound quality isn't too bad and the ANC is great. The tuning for headphones is just bad. Once you turn down the bass to a reasonable level, they're actually ok. And for someone like my friend who hadn't heard anything better, they sound amazing.

What usually happens is that I mention that I like headphones and say what I have and they pretend to be interested and then the conversation moves on. The person might have the opportunity to try something out for one reason or another and I end up with a DM asking what they can get for cheap to get a taste of what they heard.
One story I have: A friend of mine needed a pair of headphones for a Teams call and she didn't have any so I just let her borrow the Audio Technica ATH-M50X I had since I wasn't using them and they weren't too expensive. She said they sounded amazing and asked how much they cost. I said they were actually quite cheap (£120) but apparently my version of cheap and her's were very different. Either way, she ended up buying some Sony WH1000 XM4 a few weeks later after she had saved up. Not exactly audiophile quality but way better than what she was using before.

I wouldn't buy the same headphone that rips over and over again. There's the old saying "buy cheap, buy twice". Spend more the first time round and save yourself money in the long run. That kind of headphone doesn't look like it would last too well either. I've never been too fond of on-ears generally anyhow.

The convenience of the AirPods only exists because of what Apple started. If the headphone jack was still common on phones, having wired IEMs wouldn’t be anywhere near as much of an inconvenience. I realise I’m a moron but I’ve lost count of how many of the lighting to 3.5mm I’ve had to buy. Not to mentioned the fact that I can’t have my phone on charge and listen to music, unless I use my wireless earbuds. Bring back the headphone jack.

Considering the difference between the HD599 and the HD650, the difference between the HD599 and the HD560s is not going to be that much at all, especially to the untrained ear.
