When I was young being a computer dork I always wondered what it would be like when we could all have a cray 2 in our homes. Now I carry something in my pocket that has 1200 times the computational power at 1/1000th the cost and it is considered disposable tech.

If trends hold before I die I could have a 1.2 zettaflop device in my hands. Now certainly that will not happen for a myriad of reasons most likely but we really don't know what the tech road map looks like that far out.

When you look at that and things like the YouTube algorithm being so complex that Google can no longer predict what it will offer someone before hand you have to realize we are sitting on this cusp where while not a complete accident it will most certainly be an accident when do create an AGI. Programming is only going to be a tiny piece of the puzzle because it will most likely program itself into that state.

Seems a lot more simple to screen for people that don't want to be rich and make them wealthy enough that their pay is enough. 250k year for life with a single 4 year term add harsh penalties for fucking up like removal of the pension and put them in prison. Add lottery style assignments to make it harder to game the pool so every one would have to be on the take and you've greatly reduced your issues.

Because the voters have no power unless they can swing a large group of third part candidates in.

Republicans are in a rough spot since trump and the crazies are coming for their dues. Are are not going to continue to be placated with words about abortion and gay marriage or this or that wedge issue and unfortunately it is blowing up. The other side of aisle can't get their shit together to make it work and unfortunately I see it getting worse.

The other poster has the right answers for you.

You will need hard copies if you get audited it's your choice if you want to have it all together in case you get audited to make future you life a bit easier or not.

The only real thing to remember is you can not carry a loss this way so if you sell a $100 item for $50 you can only deduct 50. If what you are doing is complex enough that not carrying those losses matters you should set up a "business".

You literally just fill out a list on 1099 c

Total 1099 misc $100

Rent to relative -45

Rent to studio -55

Total Adjusted 1099 income $0

Easy as it gets. You should make sure you have documentation if you get audited but if you do you just hand it over and they check it out and go on their way.

We will not know anytime soon because it is too risky for someone to tell their therapist they like kids and it is too risky to try to advocate for research and treatment of said people. There are plenty of monsters who do it because but I'm sure most are like you said and have something different inside.

Everything new is super expensive.

A Cray 2 cost 12M when I was a child my S21 Ultra cost 1200 dollars and is 850 times as powerful.

The first functional fusion reactor (if it is ITER) is going to be outrageously expensive because it is all custom built on site like nuclear reactors are.

Fusion has an advantage though as it won't puke radioactive waste everywhere so they will likely be built factory style and assembled on site.

I would say almost with 100% certainty as long as ITER is successful and it is so over engineered it probably will be.

Every major country in the world is still working together despite the political shit show the rest of the world is. And several countries as so certain they are starting to build the accompanying support network that will be needed to run them.
