We looked into Nutley a lot before buying one in Lyndhurst 2 weeks ago. First of all, the town is great. We still love it. However, here are the reasons why we did not buy:

  1. Taxes
  2. Flood area
  3. We have a two year old and the good elementary schools are farther in the area where we could not afford it.
  4. Lots of trees for first time home owners. It was a huge deterrent.
  5. Affordable ones are closer to highways.
  6. Inventory very thin. Competition high. No buyer's advantage still.
