Sounds like your amp should be more than enough to drive those cans. You’ll know if it’s not loud enough.

That will be a great score

I mostly use peq and walk around the house with bluetooth- the quality is pretty good

I got through my last bad breakup with cheap buds, great music and a soaked pillow. You are already doing better than me. Hold on to those cans

Yes the Bluetooth functions as you mentioned. On quedelix, parametric eq can be set from an app, so no dials. Balanced is balanced cable, to get full power from the quedelix- you likely don’t need this so don’t worry about it for now. I don’t see why not on the fosi for your use case. I hear the difference between amp/no amp- deeper bass, better separation and clarity. Some people don’t hear it and will not need the amp. I have the he400se and the difference is night and day for my ears. Can you test it out and return if it doesn’t doesn’t make a good difference? Happy Holidays!

I’d put the money towards the quedelix 5k instead. It has peq and excellent Bluetooth. Also can connect to phone and pc via usb. It can drive the he400se on balance- in my experience most good headphones sound better with an amp than without. It was a worthwhile purchase for me.

I’ve never listened to a dt990, but it makes sense to buy for better value in your country. From what I read you will do far better with the dt990 than your current setup. Good luck!

Reading this made my ears throw up. Get new headphones! Even a 58x with an apple dongle to your pc will be a 1000x improvement

My primary headphones are 6XX, sr80x and 361 with quedelix. They’re different enough from each other to satisfy my moods. With peq presets and some cross feed they sound amazing to me.

Reply to Am I a bass-head? by Leidanav
When I go to the symphony there is certainly enough bass coming from the lower string, wind and percussion sections. A lot of recordings lack that part. I listen to orchestral works with planers, using the default oratory preset with no adjustments to lshelf. It depends on the recording to adjust bass, I like bass but not so much to muddy the music and tire me out.

What you described is similar to what I hear with amp vs no amp. Can’t go back
