I grew up under the jet fuel of Virginia Beach and had allergies and athletic asthma. I moved to Pittsburgh and worked in Oakland starting in 2007. After a few months, I had several problems with breathing and sinuses. I had to get ear tubes at 30. I left for a few years and several of the issues cleared back up. So… I’m definitely not a fan of Pittsburgh air.

It’s definitely weird to feel “so old” in class but you will not be alone. Most likely you will find other over 20 something’s. Definitely go for the RN otherwise you will get stuck with basic care (wiping bums and house keeping). Unless you specialize in airway (be prepared for lots of mucus) you will be competing with a large market that doesn’t always treat its staff well.

I used to do the overnight Uber/Lyft rotation. I had insomnia so it was great starting work at 10 pm and worked until I have a 4 am airport ride and then went home. I was never the only early morning driver out. You should be fine.
