Growing up it seemed like once a RI'r hit retirement age they moved 2 Florida. I have 3 relatives that moved there, but 2 of them came back.
From what I have learned of old people, they are always cold if the temp is below 78 degrees, they are all on fixed incomes and it's supposed to be cheaper down there and the flights can usually be bought pretty cheap, even for direct flights.
I mean they also have Disney world down there and alligators! What's not to love?

So you may see the spinning circle more often, but those services buffer, so it downloads enough of the movie to play 30 seconds or so if it loses internet. But with the games and video calls they need a more consistent connection. There is no buffering with those services.
The speed is not the issue, it's the latency. Wireless and cellular have high latency!

Your kids will not be happy if they play any kind of online shooters. Even when you have full bars cellular has high latency.

Tmobile's service only uses satellite in areas without cell coverage, the rest of the time you're just on their cellular network. But being in IT this sounds like an awful solution if you do a lot of video conferences.

I remember the first time I realized water fountains weren't known as bubblers was back in the 80s on a field trip to slater mill I believe it was. I had asked an older couple where the bubbler was? And they responded in a British accent asking what I was asking for? I remember saying you know the thing you press the button to get a drink of water? The husband's response was the oh my, you mean the water fountain! Then laughed at me while pointing to the bubbler with a mocking tone saying g the bubbler is over there.
