Far right political movements and groups in the West have wealth, power and influence and push fervent populism, white supremacy and nationalism that believe Western Democracies are tyrannical and oppressive to their way of life because of various policies like pro immigration, gay marriage, government welfare, voting rights. They are also fervently against Muslim immigration especially in Europe.

The Muslim world has no far right wing populism brewing within society. In fact, it's the complete opposite. The Arab spring was uprisings and revolutions from the poor and workers demanding elections and human rights. And recent protests in Iran were demanding women's rights among other things.

And Muslim governments are diverse and complicated. Some are obviously oppressive that are guided by religious fundamentalisum and are authoritarian like Iran. But others are more like progressive Democracies and others are monarchies with kings and royalty.

Some Muslim countries may share hatred for gay marriage and trans people and have authoritarian governments that far right Western groups aspire to but just because a few Muslim countries happen to support a few issues that far right groups do in the West does not make them comparable at all. They are not in most cases.

Painting with a broad brush that Muslim countries are far right are comparable to the political philosophies and aspirations of Western far right groups is just wrong on every single point.

These publicity stunts like the book burnings are to create rifts in the West and Muslim countries allied with the West like Turkey. Russia does this to poison and diminish the West and Muslim relations.

Muslim countries are religious and have their own unique internal politics very different from the West and far right western groups.

Im saying Western civilization and Muslim countries face a common enemy that's trying to create instability and violence and we shouldn't let it succeed by remaining peaceful united against it.

That doesn't mean some Muslims countries are pro democracy nor does it mean the West has to like some laws in many Muslim countries but we still put our differences aside and remain peaceful and do business and have military alliances.

We shouldn't let these public book burnings and threats of violence stop that.

Whenever you see far right activities, protests and public stunts like this then Russia always seems to be involved.

These book burnings are conveniently being done in countries that have tensions with Turkey and could result in NATO instability.

Far right interests and Russian interests go hand in hand. They both want Western democracies and governments to fail.

The Western world and the Muslim world should unite against this threat to peace.

I think a PBS spacetime show talked about something like this. Of course the answer is ridiculously complicated but I seem to remember you would basically see everything frozen in spacetime including other observers in the black hole.

The fact corporations are sending more and more people into space will make your chances a lot better than people in previous generations. And a new space race with US and China seems to be around the corner.

Join the air force and get a science degree. Being a stand out excellent pilot will put you at the top of the list. Getting a science degree or engineering degree as well will help you. Good luck.

When humans colonize planets/asteroids for practical purposes like resources/GDP you better believe corporations and countries will stake claims and territory.

Right now it's just curiosity and science. But when when colonizing space brings massive profits you better believe humans will go back to tribal and territorial ways.

We don't know. No scientific evidence. Just guessing and discussions at this point which is perfectly fine.

I wouldn't be surprised if there are more universes besides our own. Perhaps interacting with one another. Our own universe is mind-boggling massive. Too big for the human mind to comprehend. So to find out infinite other universes exist would not surprise me.

I'm starting to wonder if humans will ever really know the true scale and nature of the universe.

Alcoholism is a terrible addiction. I would party binge hard in my teens early 20s then it moved to drinking by myself mid 20s. And I lost a few years to heavy drinking. Lost my friends, job, girlfriend and moved in with my mom and dad cause I wasn't functional.

My greatest regret is not spending time with my father who passed away during my alcoholism. He would often reach out and want to spend time with me or just chat but I would blow him off because I was always drunk and wanted to be left alone. It breaks my heart thinking about it because he was such a kind man. I will never get that time back I could've had with my dad.

But when my mom got sick I finally snapped out of it. Exercising, jogging, hiking and trying to be healthy and productive was my new addiction. I didn't have any major health problems once I sobered up. Luckily my mom got to see me sober up get better and I made sure we had good quality time. She and my dad didn't give up on me. She passed away a few years ago.

Now, I have a girlfriend and 2 kids of my own with a decent job. I think you and I are both lucky we survived and are alive. Many people don't survive drug and alcohol addiction. We got a second chance even though we messed up parts of our lives. I am thankful for that.

Good luck to you.

Homie, running saved my life. It replaced all my bad and dangerous habits. In my late 20s I was skinny and kind of malnourished because of drinking but had a pretty big beer belly. I smoked cigarettes and weed and would get tired just walking to the bathroom. I occasionally used harder drugs but luckily still had the sense to stay away from that mostly. I was so sick and out of shape.

My mom got sick and almost died and that scared me. It got me to quit because she was asking me to for a long time. I quit everything and started walking on trails then jogging some. In a year I was easily running 10k, lost my beer belly and put on healthy weight. I was running half marathons within a couple years but that training can be tough and I enjoy running and hiking 20 to 30 miles a week.

You would be amazed at what the human body can accomplish. And how your body can heal. I guarantee you can run a half probably a marathon with proper training.

It's sad. There's got to be something out there. Some kind of life. But we may never know. Some scientists still seem optimistic about potentially finding life like SETI but others aren't so sure. It would be terrible if humanity destroys itself or gets wiped out somehow. It would be like we never existed and I wonder if this has happened to other countless civilizations.

Imagine life evolving on that planet in the cold pitch dark. Perfectly normal for them but light and warmth are concepts they will never comprehend. And the planet moving close to a sun and heating up would be terrifying and would destroy their world.

Makes me think why we can't find aliens because they are so different from us we will likely never find it or of we did be able to understand or communicate with it.

Good news. I'm a long distance runner but from age 18 to 28 I was drinking alcohol hard like almost every day, doing drugs and smoking cigarettes as well as a unhealthy diet. Pretty sure I messed some DNA up. Been pretty clean and sober except occasional alcohol for the last 10 years and got into running and hiking. I hope my exercise gives me more time cause I straight up put my body through hell when I was younger.

50,000 MPH. No, if you were in deep space everything would look stationary.

Now, if you were traveling close to the speed of light then some bizarre things start to happen with you and everything relative to you.

I'm not sure what you'd actually see. I seem to remember a episode of Carl Sagan that touched on this. Traveling the speed of light would make time speed up drastically for everything around you and you would experience time more slowly relative to everything outside the ship.

I kind of remember Sagan saying you may see a tunnel vision like view with nothing but streaks of light all around you. But that's probably just a complete guess. Or maybe it isn't a guess and there's science behind it. Not sure. Someone more knowledgeable on this needs to answer. But what a site that would be.
