I used to be 100% for assisted death but then I had a conversation with a disability justice organizer that really made me nuance my way of thinking. She said that unless we have tax-funded healthcare that is free or low cost at point of service, some folks that may otherwise want to stick around might choose this to not leave their families with huge medical debt (assuming surgeries/hospital stays/hospice costs more than what this procedure would). There are a multitude of reasons as to why someone may or may not want to end their life, but cost should not be one.

Just because they only list the things that may seem palatable does not mean this will not help the continued militarization of Atlanta's police department. Their website states "Our training includes..." not "this is an exhaustive list of what we will be doing here. You can disagree on whether this is a net loss for their community, but linking to the website does nothing.

It's such a bummer that this doesn't get updated properly. The whole point is to show support or celebrate something but then most people have no idea what that thing is.

I went once on a Friday night and it was very packed but you still could play games. Only things like DDR had a line. It also skewed very young, like college kids, but we didn't feel awkward as people in our 30s. Gonna try to visit on a weeknight, it's cheaper and probs less packed. The drink selection does kind of suck but it was still lots of fun.

In Elmhurst, where we live, it's common because the houses are mad old. We got a no-interest loan to change our pipes inside the house and Providence water covered the ones on the street side. Of course, that'a only possible because we own, and that we can afford to pay back the loan. It's a very inequitable solution for something so widespread.
