Cape codder resorts…daily pass, I had used in the past, better off go there early when they first open to make sure you can get your spot. If not, maybe worth it to reserve a night there and get the water park for free

All I am telling the OP is that don’t go in it with expectation that it’s going to save them money on the heating, because it may not end up being that way.

If you are only paying $300 for heating don’t do the heat pump. I have a 5 zone Mitsubishi and a solar panel system in MA. My last month Electic bill came in at $800 for my 2500 sqft house I did mine because I was on oil heat..which could had a lot more than the $850..

When it comes to rent/ $$ family member or not, it doesn’t matter. I wouldn’t put that in there.

Real Question is do you really have a housing crisis.
If you really do have one, you draft a letter stating you are subleasing a room from this person , and you aren’t on the lease for that apartment, now due to your income and expense situation you can’t afford to pay for subleasing this unit, that the person you subletting from is asking you to leave.
Have the person draft up a letter with the amount of monthly rent amount , the total that you owed , and the date that you need to leave.
This will work. I have done it.

Rent somewhere else and rent this one out. Does your neighbor own or rent?

You told him 2 years ago doesn’t make a difference. Let Insurnace deal with it. You are really over thinking / over complicating it .

If you are single family usage ..electricity wouldn’t cost more, if there is any difference in cost it’s very minimal that you wouldn’t even notice. You can go with electric hybrid water heater with heat pump if you want to be more efficient.
