The First time i Made contact with historical fiction were the "waringham" books by Rebecca gable
They are all Set around the fictional House of waringham an Take place around the 100 years war and the war of the Roses (there are some Set later and earlier now)
They are Kind of popular in Germany but not so commonly known abroad.
I recommend them! Especialy the German audio books
