I feel your frustration. 🥴

Honestly, I’m a member of a few community organizations, and I think a fresh new push on bringing those organizations closer together would be nice. And I agree that if we organized more effectively, we could change the political scene in the area. I would also say that there’s many people who haven’t gotten back out into the community after the worst of covid times, and I applaud OPs attempt to call to action.

I’m not deeply familiar with united way…I just remember hearing that they are the type of organization that works to bring charitable organizations together and help make connections there. With that being said, I have not heard a thing about them being active here, but I’ll look into that.

Having a somewhat “United Way” type program in the area could be really great. On the grounds of unity alone, I would love to volunteer for an organization such as this. And when I say “United Way”, I just mean the main goal of having an organization that exists to make the connections between the people and the various organizations. I’m in for that.

Does your grandparents church have a church van or would they take you with them? Ours does…if it’s a fit, we’d be happy to come and get you. Just message Turning Point Church or call.

Wtbs, I’m curious: will your parents let you go elsewhere?

Also to add: JRC is what it is. We are all in different places in our walk with Christ, and I’m not the one to say they should be this or that. So please be wary of these people just throwing churches under the bus because their church isn’t just what they think it should be.

Idk if you can “convince” your parents that the church they attend is all fake. You just have to convince them to let you go elsewhere. I’ll pray about your journey and I’m happy to help however I can. ♥️

This is so thoughtful to do. I have long Covid or PVS, so all of the diagnoses to come out of that have been pretty overwhelming, but I also have a really great village. I love that and don’t want to take it for granted! Yesterday was a tough day, but today, I get to enjoy a show with a friend of mine and I’m excited for the dopamine rush! 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️😆

The best thing I can say is that it depends on who YOU are. Springfield has a diverse number of communities that work well for many different individuals. Cool thing is, you can find your people here.

I’ve never had them skip other than a weather day or a holiday. And we try really hard to RRR ♻️, so we always have extra space in our bins if they have to skip a week. Sure, most small businesses cater to you and never miss, but not all are able. If my husband and I and maybe my sis in law were running a growing small business, I’d hope that my patrons would be understanding especially when I was in a growth spurt. I think they’re great. I don’t understand the whole need for perfection thing. As long as there is an effort to be the most affordable and I’m not being put out, we’re good. I would still recommend them to anyone I know.

Yep. Normal policy, but if you can prove that you are not a trouble maker and you’re willing to put down the deposit, it’s not a problem. That’s been my experience, at least. I’ve stayed in many local hotels, all of my choosing, whenever I want for the last 7 years I’ve lived here. Nights out, birthday parties, just a night away from home, etc.
